However, I have a problem - all the links are dead and redirect to the front page, including the ones to the list of rules and the FAQ. I'm not sure if it's because I don't have enough permission to view those links or because they've been moved somewhere, but I can't find them.

replace the 'http' prefix with 'https' and it should work

i.e.: http://www.astost.com/xxxxxx → https://www.astost.com/xxxxxx

As for your question, uploading albums by itself is the fastest way to get notes regardless of what section they are posted in. People paying notes for your download links is usually an after effect.

Personally, I think the fastest way to get notes without batch uploading albums is to upload anime OP/ED CDs (with scans and bonus DVD if any) to the new works section, it is the most popular music section of the forum. Plenty of people will pay notes for your download links if your upload is the first for the album provided. Even if you're not the first uploader of an album you'll still get a decent amount of people buying your download links.

first focus on making a few uploads before worrying about getting large quantities of notes

I've been reading this and the English FAQ over and over since joining yesterday. Thanks for the write-up.

How to use the [hide] command? I want to post some self-purchased albums and I want to hide the receipt so only admins can view it, as you say in the first post here, but I can't figure out how the hide command works, as it seems there's no change in the preview no matter what I try...
By the way, thanks for the guide, it was very helpful and I always end reading it when I post anything (just to be sure everything is right XD )
